Dahl
Spring Term 2025
We've been having fun at forest school.
The children in Dahl Class have loved setting up shop and selling items from around the classroom (and from inside my cupboard!). To support them further In Maths money work, please provide them with many opportunities to pay for things themselves with the correct coins and to the nearest ten so they can work out the change they should be given from £1.

They have also been enjoying OAA in PE, working with a partner or as a team to solve problems. Communication is key here and the children in Dahl have really impressed Mr Baker and Mrs Evans with their communication skills.
We are coming to the end of the topic on money and the children this week have been working out which coins to use to buy things from our sweet shop and how to give change from £1. Please continue to work on this skill at home, and allow them to buy themselves a treat over the weekend. See if they can use the correct coins or work out the change they should get.
We have continued to look at the life of pirates in our writing lessons and have considered the difference between cars and boats. Within our Learning Means the World lessons, we have looked at how boats are launched into the water and we have made our very own trailers following instructions.
We have been introduced to the life of pirates! We have sung sea shanties, drunk rum (root beer) eaten (very dry) biscuits, learnt about some notorious pirates and shared our pirate pieces brought in from home. The children have had a great first week back. ☠️
