World Book Day
World Book Day this year is on Thursday 6th March. We invite all children (and staff) to dress up on the day in book-inspired costumes. In addition to dressing up, we will also be doing our traditional extreme reading competition.
Back again by popular demand is our extreme reading competition. This year our Year 6 Reading Champions have added a theme: the great outdoors. If your child would like to enter, please send a photo of your children reading in an unusual place outdoors to cnewman@trinityprimaryschool.org by Tuesday 5th March. We will celebrate all of the entries in assembly on Wednesday 6th March and a prize will be awarded for the best photo from each key stage.
HYF Run
It's not too late to sign up for the Henley Youth Festival Run, taking place on Saturday 8th March at Henley Rugby Club. The deadline for registering is Wednesday 5th March.
Please CLICK HERE to register.
Class photo updates
Just a reminder that teachers are sharing photos of what the children have been up to each week on the school website. Please visit your child's class page:

If your child is not appearing in these photos, it might be because you have previously refused consent. If you wish to change your mind, please email office.3254@trinity.oxon.sch.uk
Swimarathon
The Swimarathon at Gillotts Leisure Centre is taking place on Saturday 22nd March, from 2.40-3.20pm. Children will swim in the style of a relay, one length at a time with a rest in between, for the duration of 40 minutes. Anyone can sign up, as long as they can swim one full length without aids. So far, we have four teams participating (33 children), but there are still spaces for another 15 children. If your child is interested, please sign them up by CLICKING HERE
All sponsorship money raised will be split between The Lions Club of Henley and Trinity Primary School, and we will be putting the money towards more large play equipment for the playground (see image at the bottom of this bulletin).
We have managed to raise over £3,000.00 already from various events and we have the opportunity to add to this pot if children from the Maidenhead Swimarathon attend the President's Cup awards ceremony on Friday 28th March. If your child swam in the January Swimarathon and is able to attend, please CLICK HERE
A huge thank you to everyone for their contributions so far and to the children for their hard work in our recent sporting fundraising activities. We are all very excited to see what we can get to improve the children's playground fun.
Royal Academy of Arts Young Artists’ Summer Show - deadline 5th March
This is a fantastic opportunity for children aged 4 to 18 to express their creativity and showcase their artwork on a national stage. The Young Artists’ Summer Show celebrates the imagination and talent of young people across the UK.
There is no set theme, so children can submit any artwork which truly reflects their individuality and artistic voice. Submissions can include drawing, painting, printing, photography, sculpture, textile, fashion, animation, video, or anything else that showcases their creativity!
How to Submit:
- Who can submit artwork: Parents, carers, or teachers can submit artwork on behalf of the child.
- Deadline: 5th March
- Submission link: CLICK HERE
- Permission form and guidelines: CLICK HERE to download the forms from our website
Each submission must include a good-quality image or video of the artwork along with a short description. Selected works will be exhibited online, and some will be displayed at the Royal Academy of Arts in London — a truly inspiring achievement for any young artist!
Help needed for Year 6 SATs in May (and mocks in March)
We are in need of parents who might be available to support the administration of our Year 6 SATs this year. During the assessments, some pupils are eligible for additional support through access arrangements such as a scribe, a reader, rest breaks or additional time. This year we have a number of pupils who can benefit from this provision to provide them with the opportunity to complete the assessments to the very best of their abilities. In order to facilitate this individual provision, it does require a number of additional adults.
We are looking for support for our mocks SATs week - week beginning 10th March and also the real SATs week - week beginning 12th May. On the Monday and Wednesday there are two papers so support would be required between 9am and 12pm and on the Tuesday and Thursday there is just one paper so support would be required between 9am-10.30am.
For any parents who are able to volunteer, we will provide training about how you can support the pupil you are working with and the guidance provided by the DfE. If you are able to help with this, please contact Miss Hart directly - chart@trinityprimaryschool.org. We'd be very grateful for any parent support.
