Cost of school meals
Oxford County Council have just advised us that they will be delaying the price increase on school meals until 1st April. They had previously advised that it would come into effect from 1st January. We would like to apologise for any confusion caused by OCC.
Prices on Schoolgateway will be updated from the 1st February to revert back to £2.58 for KS2 paid meals. Please note that from 1st April the price for paid meals will be £2.93. Please contact the school office if you would like a refund for any overpayments made on school meals in January. Please note this change does not affect those on UIFSM or FSM.
Fundraising for new play equipment with Commonwealth Games Gold Medalist
Gymnast Steve Frew will be visiting our school on Friday 14th February and he is inviting all children to take part in a fun exercise circuit. EVERYONE should come to school on Friday 14th in PE kit and trainers please. Classes will take part in the exercise circuit (activities are differentiated for all abilities and ages) followed by an assembly where children will hear about Steve Frew's life and successes.
The children thoroughly enjoy playing on the play equipment we were able to put in place last year, but they want more! Please help us raise funds for more large outdoor equipment or a trim trail. We have an online fundraising page where you can register, donate and download sponsorship forms. For more information, please watch this Video
Large play equipment is incredibly expensive, but it lasts a long time. We desperately need as much help as possible to provide our children with more large outdoor equipment or a trim trail ensuring they are active, imaginative and developing their balance, coordination and agility. We hope everyone will get involved and help us raise as much money as possible for the children to really benefit at playtimes.
Fundraising for new play equipment via Swimarathon
Another way to support the fundraising is via the Swimarathon. We raised almost £800 in the January Swimarathon (sponsorship money is still coming in), and we have another Swimarathon in March. If your child is interested, please sign up via https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScE-LRnmjY0IR9lMb1eBA-YU-6xKO77qkC2bhuZ_nfNpybvlQ/viewform?usp=dialog
Parking on double yellow lines
A small number of parents continue to park on the double yellow lines outside of school. This causes traffic congestion, risk to children crossing the road and great annoyance to our neighbours. Should the school or local residents of Vicarage Road need an ambulance or fire engine, it would be impossible with the gridlock that this type of parking causes.
Daily absence reporting
If your child is unable to come to school because they are unwell, please inform the school office by emailing office.3254@trinity.oxon.sch.uk and it is helpful if you also copy in your child's teacher via their class email address. Alternatively, please call 01491 575887 before 9.00am giving your child's full name (including surname), class and reason for absence.
Healthy snacks
Please can we remind parents and carers to only send children to school with healthy snacks and packed lunches. Please avoid items such as crisps and chocolate bars.
