Transition advice - moving from Primary to Secondary School

For any parents of children in Year 6, you may find the below guide from Oxfordshire County Council helpful in helping to prepare your child for the move from Primary to Secondary School.

Advice Guide

Oxfordshire County Council have also asked us to share the following information with you:

If children are ill-prepared as pedestrians, they are much more likely to be killed or injured in a road traffic incident, seen by the fact that the number of child pedestrians injured rises significantly around 10-12 years old – the time at which they begin to go out unaccompanied by adults.

The lighter evenings and summer holidays will be the perfect time for children and their parents and carers to prepare for this journey to school.

Further details regarding the current campaign being run by Think!, the government’s designated road safety campaigner can be found in the following link. The ‘Safe Adventures’ campaign is fronted by Kimberley Wyatt and is designed to help parents prepare their children for safer independent travel.
